Unlike most fins, the Volan PHD is hand foiled by the mad surf scientists at True Ames who specialize in the art of classic fin construction. Displayed above are 3 sizes of the PHD - 9", 9.5", and 10" - each size has its own custom template, making subtle tweaks to fine tune each fin perfectly. True to it's flex fin roots, this tall, wide based fin has a forward foil with a rounder leading edge and is designed for down the line drive while balancing a flexible tip to project you out of your directional changes. There is truly nothing better than a flexy fin springing a flexy board across the face of a racy point break which makes this fin a close friend for many mid-lengths and displacement hulls.
